Ëþòåèí â ïèãìåíò, îòíîñÿùèéñÿ ê ãðóïïå êèñëîðîäñîäåðæàùèõ êàðîòèíîèäîâ, â êñàíòîôèëëàì. Êñàíòîôèëëû (îò äð.-ãðå÷. ξανθός â æ¸ëòûé è φύλλον â ëèñò) â ãëàâíàÿ ñîñòàâíàÿ ÷àñòü æåëòûõ ïèãìåíòîâ â ëèñòüÿõ, öâåòêàõ, ïëîäàõ è ïî÷êàõ âûñøèõ ðàñòåíèé, à òàêæå âî ìíîãèõ âîäîðîñëÿõ è ìèêðîîðãàíèçìàõ.  1837 ãîäó øâåäñêèé õèìèê Áåðöåëèóñ ââåë òåðìèí «êñàíòîôèëë», îáîçíà÷èâ æ¸ëòûé ïèãìåíò, âûäåëåííûé èç îïàäàþùèõ îñåíüþ æåëòûõ ëèñòüåâ. Ïîçæå ïîä êñàíòîôèëëàìè ñòàëè ïîíèìàòü òîëüêî ãèäðîêñèëèðîâàííûå êàðîòèíîèäû. Òåðìèí «ëþòåèí» âîçíèê òîëüêî â XX âåêå.  æèâîòíîì ìèðå êñàíòîôèëëû, â òîì ÷èñëå ëþòåèí, âñòðå÷àþòñÿ ðåæå (íàïðèìåð, â êóðèíîì æåëòêå).
Ìîëåêóëà ëþòåèíà ëèïîôèëüíà. Íàëè÷èå ñîïðÿæåííûõ äâîéíûõ ñâÿçåé îáúÿñíÿåò ñâåòîïîãëîùàþùèå ñâîéñòâà è àíòèîêñèäàíòíîå äåéñòâèå ëþòåèíà. Ëþòåèí ëåãêî îáðàçóåò ïåðåêèñè (ïî ìåñòó îäíîé èç ìíîãî÷èñëåííûõ äâîéíûõ ñâÿçåé) è, òàêèì îáðàçîì, ìîæåò îêèñëÿòü ðàçëè÷íûå âåùåñòâà.

Ëþòåèí â ïðèðîäíûé ïèãìåíò, îòíîñÿùèéñÿ ê ãðóïïå ãèäðîêñèëèðîâàííûõ êàðîòèíîèäîâ â êñàíòîôèëëîâ.  îòëè÷èå îò óãëåâîäîðîäíûõ êàðîòèíîèäîâ, êñàíòîôèëëû ñîäåðæàò ãèäðîêñèëüíûå ãðóïïû è îáëàäàþò ïîëÿðíîñòüþ.  ñâÿçè ñ ÷åì, îíè çàíèìàþò õàðàêòåðíûå ïîçèöèè âíóòðè ëèïîïðîòåèíîâûõ ìåìáðàí. Íàëè÷èå ñèñòåìû ñîïðÿæåííûõ äâîéíûõ ñâÿçåé îáóñëàâëèâàåò äâà îñíîâíûõ ñâîéñòâà ëþòåèíà:
- Ïîãëîùåíèå ñèíå-ôèîëåòîâîé ÷àñòè ñïåêòðà ñ ïåðåõîäîì â ñèíãëåòíîå ñîñòîÿíèå. (ìàêñèìóì ïîãëîùåíèÿ â 460íì)
- Íåéòðàëèçàöèÿ îêèñëèòåëåé è ñâîáîäíûõ ðàäèêàëîâ.
 ðàñòåíèÿõ âñå êñàíòîôèëëû íåêîâàëåíòíî ñâÿçàíû ñ áåëêàìè è ëèïèäàìè ôîòîñèíòåòè÷åñêèõ ìåìáðàí. Ïðåèìóùåñòâåííî íàõîäÿòñÿ â ïëàñòèäàõ. Îíè ïîãëîùàþò ÷àñòü ñîëíå÷íîãî ñïåêòðà, íåäîñòóïíóþ õëîðîôèëëó. Òàêæå, êñàíòîôèëëû ðàññåèâàþò èçáûòî÷íóþ ýíåðãèþ, âûïîëíÿÿ ôîòîçàùèòíóþ ôóíêöèþ. Êðîìå òîãî, îíè íåéòðàëèçóþò ñâîáîäíûå ðàäèêàëû, èíòåíñèâíî îáðàçóþùèåñÿ ïðè ôîòîñèíòåçå.[3] Áèîñèíòåç ëþòåèíà îñóùåñòâëÿåòñÿ òîëüêî â ðàñòåíèÿõ ïóò¸ì ãèäðîêñèëèðîâàíèÿ èç α-êàðîòèíà. ×åëîâåê è æèâîòíûå ïîëó÷àþò ëþòåèí òîëüêî ñ ïèùåé. Ñõåìà áèîñèíòåçà ëþòåèíà ó âûñøèõ ðàñòåíèé:
- Ïåðâûé ýòàï â ýòî ôîðìèðîâàíèå èçîïðåíîâîé öåïè: èç èçîïðåíèëôîñôàòà â ïðèñóòñòâèè ãåðàíèëãåðàíèëñèíòàçû îáðàçóåòñÿ ãåðàíèëãåðàíèëïèðîôîñôàò.

- Â õîäå äåãèäðèðîâàíèÿ ïîä äåéñòâèåì ôèòîåíäåñàòóðàçû îáðàçóåòñÿ çåòà-êàðîòèí

- Äàëüíåéøåå äåãèäðèðîâàíèå ïîä äåéñòâèåì çåòàêàðîòèíäåñàòóðàçû ïðèâîäèò ê îáðàçîâàíèþ ëèêîïèíà

[ïðàâèòü] Ñîäåðæàíèå â îðãàíèçìå ÷åëîâåêà
Îðãàíèçì ÷åëîâåêà íå ñïîñîáåí ñèíòåçèðîâàòü ëþòåèí, ïîýòîìó ïîñòóïëåíèå ëþòåèíà â îðãàíèçì íàïðÿìóþ ñâÿçàíî ñ ïèòàíèåì. Ñðåäè âñåõ êàðîòèíîèäîâ ëþòåèí îáëàäàåò ñàìîé âûñîêîé áèîäîñòóïíîñòüþ â ïî÷òè 80 %. Íà åãî óñâàèâàåìîñòü íàèáîëüøåå âëèÿíèå îêàçûâàåò íàëè÷èå ëèïèäîâ â ïèùå.[4]. Äëÿ óñâîåíèÿ ëþòåèíà íåîáõîäèìî ïîòðåáëÿòü íåêîòîðîå êîëè÷åñòâî ëèïèäîâ (æèðîâ). ×àñòü äèåòàðíîãî ëþòåèíà îáû÷íî ýòåðèôèöèðîâàíà, ïîýòîìó òðåáóåòñÿ íàëè÷èå êèøå÷íûõ ëèïàç äëÿ åãî äåýòåðèôèêàöèè. Ëþòåèí â ñîñòàâå ëèïèäíîé ìèöåëëû äîëæåí ïîäîéòè ê ñòåíêå òîíêîãî êèøå÷íèêà. Êàê ïîëÿðíàÿ ìîëåêóëà, ëþòåèí ðàñïîëàãàåòñÿ íà ïîâåðõíîñòè ðàçäåëà ôàç.  ýíòåðîöèò òàêàÿ ìèöåëëà ïîïàäàåò ïóòåì ïàññèâíîé äèôôóçèè.  êðîâîòîê ëþòåèí âûõîäèò â ñîñòàâå õèëîìèêðîíà.[5]  ðàçíûõ òêàíÿõ ëþòåèí íàêàïëèâàåòñÿ íåîäèíàêîâî. Ìàêñèìàëüíàÿ åãî êîíöåíòðàöèÿ íàáëþäàåòñÿ â ãëàçå, îñîáåííî â â ñåò÷àòêå â â 10000 ðàç áîëüøå, ÷åì â ïëàçìå êðîâè. Ýòî ñâÿçàííî ñ èçáèðàòåëüíûì ïîãëîùåíèåì ëþòåèíà ñ ïîìîùüþ êñàíòîôèëë-ñâÿçûâàþùåãî ïåðåíîñ÷èêà. Òàêæå â ïîãëîùåíèè ëþòåèíà ãëàçîì èãðàåò ðîëü áåëîê â òóáóëèí [6][7].
Âíóòðè ãëàçà, ëþòåèí (è åãî èçîìåð â çåàêñàíòèí) òàêæå ðàñïðåäåëåí íåðàâíîìåðíî:  æ¸ëòîì ïÿòíå ñåò÷àòêè ñêîíöåíòðèðîâàíî äî 70 % ëþòåèíà è çåàêñàíòèíà îò èõ îáùåãî ñîäåðæàíèÿ â ãëàçó. Ïîìèìî ñåò÷àòêè è ïîäñòèëàþùåãî ïèãìåíòíîãî ýïèòåëèÿ, îíè îáíàðóæèâàþòñÿ â ñîñóäèñòîé îáîëî÷êå ãëàçà, ðàäóæêå, õðóñòàëèêå è â öèëèàðíîì òåëå. Èõ êîíöåíòðàöèÿ ýêñïîíåíöèàëüíî óáûâàåò îò öåíòðà ñåò÷àòêè ê å¸ ïåðèôåðèè. Ïîêàçàíî, ÷òî îêîëî 50 % ýòèõ ïèãìåíòîâ ñåò÷àòêè ñîñðåäîòî÷åíî â å¸ öåíòðàëüíîé çîíå ñ óãëîâûìè ðàçìåðàìè îò 0.25 äî 2°. Ïî áèîõèìè÷åñêèì äàííûì, êîíöåíòðàöèÿ ìàêóëÿðíûõ ïèãìåíòîâ â öåíòðàëüíîé çîíå (1.5^1 ìì) ïî÷òè â 3 ðàçà âûøå, ÷åì â ïåðèôåðè÷åñêèõ çîíàõ ñåò÷àòêè ÷åëîâåêà.[8]
 íàñòîÿùåå âðåìÿ ïðåäïîëàãàåòñÿ, ÷òî ìàêóëÿðíûé ïèãìåíò ñ åãî ìàêñèìóìîì ïîãëîùåíèÿ ïðè 460 íì (ñèíÿÿ îáëàñòü) âûïîëíÿåò íåñêîëüêî ôóíêöèé. Ñðåäè íèõ â ñíèæåíèå âëèÿíèÿ õðîìàòè÷åñêîé àáåððàöèè ãëàçà çà ñ÷¸ò ñíèæåíèÿ èíòåíñèâíîñòè ñèíåãî àáåððàöèîííîãî «àðåîëà» ïðè àêêîìîäàöèè ãëàçà â îáëàñòè ìàêñèìàëüíîé ñðåäíåé ÷óâñòâèòåëüíîñòè (550 íì), è, ïîâûøåíèå, òåì ñàìûì, îñòðîòû çðåíèÿ, à òàêæå àíòèîêñèäàíòíàÿ â ñî÷åòàíèå âûñîêîãî ïàðöèàëüíîãî äàâëåíèÿ êèñëîðîäà â ñåò÷àòêå (äî 70 ìì ðò. ñò.) è íàëè÷èÿ ÷óâñòâèòåëüíûê ê ôîòîîêèñëåíèþ ïîëèíåíàñûùåííûõ æèðíûõ êèñëîò ìåìáðàí ñîçäà¸ò ïðåäïîñûëêè ê ðàçâèòèþ îêèñëèòåëüíîãî ñòðåññà, è âûñîêàÿ êîíöåíòðàöèÿ ëèïîôèëüíûõ êñàíòîôèëëîâ, îáëàäàþùèõ àíòèîêñèäàíòíûìè ñâîéñòâàìè, ïðåäîòâðàùàåò îêèñëèòåëüíîå ïîâðåæäíèå êëåòîê[9].

×åëîâåê ïîëó÷àåò ëþòåèí èç ïèùè, â îñíîâíîì ðàñòèòåëüíîãî ïðîèñõîæäåíèÿ. Êðîìå òîãî, èñòî÷íèêàìè ýòîãî êàðîòèíîèäà ÿâëÿþòñÿ ëþòåèíñîäåðæàùèå áèîëîãè÷åñêè àêòèâíûå äîáàâêè è ëåêàðñòâåííûå ïðåïàðàòû.

Ðåêîìåíäóåìûé óðîâåíü ïîòðåáëåíèÿ ëþòåèíà â Ðîññèè â 5 ìã â ñóòêè. Âåðõíèé äîïóñòèìûé óðîâåíü ïîòðåáëåíèÿ â 10 ìã â ñóòêè[10] Äëÿ ïðîôèëàêòèêè çàáîëåâàíèé ãëàç (íàïðèìåð, äèñòðîôèè ñåò÷àòêè) íåîáõîäèìî ïðèíèìàòü êàê ìèíèìóì 2 ìã ëþòåèíà, à ñóòî÷íàÿ äîçà äëÿ ïðîôèëàêòèêè ÂÌÄ â ãðóïïå ðèñêà â íå ìåíåå 6,0 ìã (ðåêîìåíäàöèÿ ðîññèéñêîãî Ýêñïåðòíîãî ñîâåòà ïî ÂÌÄ, 2009).[11]

Èíòåðåñíî, ÷òî çàïàäíàÿ äèåòà îáû÷íî îáåñïå÷èâàåò ïîòðåáëåíèå îò 1 äî 2ìã/ñóò. À âîò ó ÷åðíîêîæèõ àìåðèêàíöåâ äèåòà îáû÷íî ñîäåðæèò ëþòåèíà îêîëî 3ìã/ñóò. Ïðè ýòîì â ÑØÀ ïðåäñòàâëåíèÿ î íîðìàõ ïîòðåáëåíèÿ ëþòåèíà íàìíîãî ìåíüøå, ÷åì â Ðîññèè: âñåãî 0.8-1 ìã/ñóò.[12]
Ñîãëàñíî ýêñïåðèìåíòàëüíûì äàííûì ïðèåì â âèäå äîáàâêè ëþòåèíà 8 ìã/ñóò ïðèâîäèò ê ðîñòó åãî êîíöåíòðàöèè â ïëàçìå â ïÿòü ðàç. À 30 ìã/ñóò â â 10 ðàç. Ïðè ýòîì â òêàíÿõ (â ãëàçàõ) ëþòåèí íà÷èíàåò íàêàïëèâàòüñÿ ÷åðåç 20-30 ñóòîê ïîñëå íà÷àëà ïðèåìà.[13].
[ïðàâèòü] Çíà÷åíèå ëþòåèíà äëÿ çðåíèÿ
Ëþòåèí (è åãî èçîìåð â çåàêñàíòèí) èãðàåò áîëüøóþ ðîëü â ôèçèîëîãèè çðåíèÿ. Êàê êîìïîíåíò çðèòåëüíûõ ïèãìåíòîâ ëþòåèí âïåðâûå îïèñàí â 1985 ãîäó.[14]
Ó íåãî äâå îñíîâíûå ôóíêöèè:
- Óâåëè÷åíèå îñòðîòû çðåíèÿ çà ñ÷åò óìåíüøåíèÿ õðîìàòè÷åñêèõ àáåððàöèé, òî åñòü ôèëüòðîâàíèå çðèòåëüíî-íåýôôåêòèâíîé ÷àñòè ñïåêòðà äî å¸ ïîïàäàíèÿ íà ôîòîðåöåïòîðû (óñòðàíåíèå «àáåððàöèîííîãî îðåîëà»). Ýòî îáåñïå÷èâàåò áîëüøóþ ÷åòêîñòü çðåíèÿ, ñïîñîáíîñòü ðàçëè÷àòü äåòàëè.
- Ôîòîïðîòåêöèÿ. Óìåíüøàåòñÿ ïîòîê íàèáîëåå àãðåññèâíîé ÷àñòè âèäèìîãî ñïåêòðà â ñèíå-ôèîëåòîâîé, êîòîðàÿ îòâå÷àåò äèàïàçîíó ïîãëîùåíèÿ ëþòåèíà.[15] Òàêæå ëþòåèí îáåñïå÷èâàåò çàùèòó îò ñâîáîäíûõ ðàäèêàëîâ, îáðàçóþùèõñÿ íà ïðÿìîì ñâåòó[16]. Óìåíüøåíèå òàêîé çàùèòû ïðèâîäèò ê äåãåíåðàöèè ñåò÷àòêè è ïîñòåïåííîé ïîòåðå çðåíèÿ.[17]
Åñëè ïåðâîå ñâîéñòâî ïðåäñêàçàíî òåîðåòè÷åñêè è ïîäòâåðæäåíî òîëüêî íà ìîäåëÿõ, òî âòîðîå (çàùèòíîå) ñâîéñòâî ìíîãîêðàòíî ïîêàçàíî íà ëþäÿõ. Òàê, óñòàíîâëåíî, ÷òî ëþäè ñ ïîíèæåííûì ñîäåðæàíèåì ëþòåèíà íàìíîãî ÷àùå ñòðàäàþò îò ìàêóëÿðíîé äåãåíåðàöèè. Óïîòðåáëåíèå äèåòû, áîãàòîé ëþòåèíîì, ïîçâîëÿåò ñîêðàòèòü ðèñê äåãåíåíåðàöèè ñåò÷àòêè.[14] Èãðàÿ ðîëü ñâåòîôèëüòðà, ëþòåèí ïðåäîòâðàùàåò ïîìóòíåíèå õðóñòàëèêà è ðàçðóøåíèå ñåò÷àòêè [18]. Äèåòà, áîãàòàÿ ëþòåèíîì, ïîçâîëÿåò äîñòîâåðíî äîëüøå ñîõðàíèòü õðóñòàëèê îò ïîìóòíåíèÿ [19].
Òàêæå ëþòåèí óìåíüøàåò îáðàçîâàíèå è íàêîïëåíèå ïèãìåíòà ëèïîôóñöèíà, êîòîðûé îáóñëàâëèâàåò ðàçâèòèå âîçðàñòíîé äèñòðîôèè ñåò÷àòêè. Íàêîïëåíèå ïèãìåíòà ëèïîôóñöèíà ÿâëÿåòñÿ âàæíûì ôàêòîðîì ñòàðåíèÿ ñåò÷àòêè.[20] Ïîìèìî «çàñîðåíèÿ» îïòè÷åñêèõ ïîâåðõíîñòåé, ëèïîôóñöèí âûäåëÿåò ñâîáîäíûå ðàäèêàëû ïîä äåéñòâèåì ñèíåãî ñâåòà. Ëþòåèí ñíèæàåò ñêîðîñòü îáðàçîâàíèÿ ëèïîôóñöèíà. Ìåõàíèçì ýòîãî ÿâëåíèÿ äî êîíöà íå ÿñåí, âîçìîæíî, â åãî îñíîâå ëåæèò àíòèîêñèäàíòíûé ýôôåêò. Êðîìå òîãî, ëþòåèí ñíèæàåò òîêñè÷íîñòü ëèïîôóñöèíà çà ñ÷åò ôèëüòðàöèè àãðåññèâíîãî ñèíåãî ñâåòà.[21]
Ñîäåðæàíèå ëþòåèíà â ìàêóëÿðíîé îáëàñòè ñåò÷àòêè ñ âîçðàñòîì óìåíüøàåòñÿ, ÷òî ñ÷èòàåòñÿ îäíèì èç îñíîâíûõ ôàêòîðîâ, âûçûâàþùèõ ðàçâèòèå äåãåíåðàòèâíûõ ïðîöåññîâ â ñåò÷àòêå[1] . ×åì âûøå ïëîòíîñòü ëþòåèíà â ñåò÷àòêå, òåì íèæå ðèñê å¸ ïîâðåæäåíèÿ. Ñíèæåíèå çàùèòíîé ôóíêöèè ñåò÷àòêè èç-çà íåäîñòàòêà ëþòåèíà â ïèùå ïðèâîäèò ê äèñòðîôèè ïèãìåíòíîãî ñëîÿ ñåò÷àòêè (ìàêóëîäèñòðîôèè), à â èòîãå â ê ïîëíîé ïîòåðå çðåíèÿ. Íà ñåãîäíÿøíèé äåíü ýòî ñàìàÿ ðàñïðîñòðàíåííàÿ ïðè÷èíà ñëåïîòû ó ëþäåé ñòàðøå 60 ëåò. Óâåëè÷åíèå ïðèåìà ëþòåèíà ñ ïèùåé èëè â âèäå äîáàâîê â ýòî äåéñòâåííûé ñïîñîá óâåëè÷èòü åãî êîíöåíòðàöèþ â ñûâîðîòêå êðîâè, ÷òî âî ìíîãèõ ñëó÷àÿõ ïðèâîäèò ê óâåëè÷åíèþ ïëîòíîñòè ìàêóëÿðíîãî ïèãìåíòà [22].
Êðîìå òîãî, èìåþòñÿ èññëåäîâàíèÿ, ïîêàçûâàþùèå ïîëîæèòåëüíîå âëèÿíèå ëþòåèíà íà òå÷åíèå ãëàóêîìíîé îïòè÷åñêîé íåéðîïàòèè (ÃÎÍ) ïðè ïîâûøåííîì âíóòðèãëàçíîì äàâëåíèè (ÂÃÄ) [23].

Íåñìîòðÿ íà òî, ÷òî ëþòåèí íå âûðàáàòûâàåòñÿ â îðãàíèçìå æèâîòíûõ è ÷åëîâåêà, â íîðìàëüíîé äèåòå ãðóäíîãî ðåá¸íêà îí ïðèñóòñòâóåò ñ ñàìîãî ðîæäåíèÿ. Ýòî îáúÿñíÿåòñÿ òåì, ÷òî ëþòåèí â äîñòàòî÷íî áîëüøèõ ïàëëåòíûõ êîíöåíòðàöèÿõ ñîäåðæèòñÿ â ãðóäíîì ìîëîêå. Ñîãëàñíî îäíîìó êðóïíîìó ìåæäóíàðîäíîìó èññëåäîâàíèþ [24] ñîâìåñòíàÿ êîíöåíòðàöèÿ ëþòåèíà è ïîõîæåãî àíòèîêñèäàíòà çåàêñàíòèíà êîëåáàëàñü â ãðóäíîì ìîëîêå ìåæäó ðàçíûìè ñòðàíàìè â äèàïàçîíå 2677 ìêìîëü/ë, è â íåêîòîðûõ ñòðàíàõ (×èëè, Êèòàå, ßïîíèè è Ôèëèïïèíàõ) èõ ñîäåðæàíèå äàæå ïðåâûøàëî ñîäåðæàíèå äðóãîãî èçâåñòíîãî àíòèîêñèäàíòà áåòà-êàðîòèíà (ïðè÷¸ì â Ôèëèïïèíàõ è Êèòàå â áîëåå ÷åì â ïîëòîðà ðàçà).
Ðåá¸íîê ñðàçó ïîñëå ðîæäåíèÿ ñòàëêèâàåòñÿ ñ íîâûì äëÿ íåãî ñòðåññîì â ìîùíûì ïîòîêîì äíåâíîãî ñâåòà, êîòîðûé óñèëèÿìè åñòåñòâåííûõ ëèíç (ðîãîâèöû è õðóñòàëèêà) êîíöåíòðèðóåòñÿ è ôîêóñèðóåòñÿ íà ñåò÷àòêå ãëàçà â îáëàñòè æ¸ëòîãî ïÿòíà. Ïðè îòñóòñòâèè åñòåñòâåííûõ ñðåäñòâ çàùèòû êîíöåíòðèðîâàííûé ïó÷îê ñâåòà íåèçáåæíî íà÷í¸ò ïðèâîäèòü ê ïîâðåæäåíèþ ñåò÷àòêè. Ê íàñòîÿùåìó âðåìåíè ïðîâåäåíû èññëåäîâàíèÿ íà ìîëîäûõ ïðèìàòàõ, êîòîðûå ïðîäåìîíñòðèðîâàëè çàùèòíûå ñâîéñòâà ëþòåèíà â äèåòå ñ ñàìîãî ðàííåãî âîçðàñòà.  îäíîì èññëåäîâàíèè ó íåñêîëüêèõ ïðèìàòîâ, êîòîðûõ ñ ñàìîãî ðîæäåíèÿ äåðæàëè íà äèåòå áåç ëþòåèíà è çåàêñàíòèíà, ñåò÷àòêà áûëà îáëó÷åíà ìàëîìîùíûì ëàçåðîì ñ ÷àñòîòîé âîëíû â ñèíåì ñïåêòðå (476 íì), ïîñëå ÷åãî íà ñðîê 2228 íåäåëü â èõ äèåòó áûë äîáàâëåí ëþòåèí, è ýêñïåðèìåíò áûë ïîâòîð¸í. Áûëî îáíàðóæåíî, ÷òî ñòåïåíü ïîâðåæäåíèÿ öåíòðàëüíîé ÿìêè æ¸ëòîãî ïÿòíà ñåò÷àòêè ïîñëå ëþòåèíà áûëà çíà÷èìî ìåíüøå, ÷åì äî íåãî.[25]
Äðóãîå èññëåäîâàíèå,[26] ïðîâåä¸ííîå íà ìàêàêàõ ïîêàçàëî, ÷òî æèâîòíûå âûðàùåííûå ñ ðîæäåíèÿ íà äèåòå, ëèø¸ííîé ëþòåèíà è çåàêñàíòèíà, èìåëè ñòðóêòóðíûå èçìåíåíèÿ ñåò÷àòêè (ïëîòíîñòü êëåòîê ïèãìåíòíîãî ýïèòåëèÿ ñåò÷àòêè), êîòîðûå â íåêîòîðîé ñòåïåíè ïîäâåðãàëèñü íåîïðåäåë¸ííîé ïî áèîëîãè÷åñêîé çíà÷èìîñòè ìîäèôèêàöèè (âîçíèêíîâåíèåì àñèììåòðèè â ïðîôèëå êëåòîê ïèãìåíòíîãî ýïèòåëèÿ ñåò÷àòêè) ñ íà÷àëîì èñïîëüçîâàíèÿ ëþòåèíà â áîëåå ïîçäíåì âîçðàñòå (717 ëåò). Àâòîðû ïóáëèêàöèè çàêëþ÷àþò: âÊñàíòîôèëëû è îìåãà-3 æèðíûå êèñëîòû íåîáõîäèìû äëÿ ðàçâèòèÿ è/èëè ïîääåðæàíèÿ íîðìàëüíîãî ðàñïðåäåëåíèÿ êëåòîê ïèãìåíòíîãî ýïèòåëèÿ ñåò÷àòêèâ.
Èçáûòî÷íîå ïîâðåæäàþùåå äåéñòâèå ñèíåãî ñâåòà íà ñåò÷àòêó ãëàçà ó ìëàäåíöåâ ñâÿçûâàþò ñ îòíîñèòåëüíî áîëüøåé ïðîçðà÷íîñòüþ èõ õðóñòàëèêà. Ñî âðåìåíåì ïðè îêèñëåíèè áåëêîâ õðóñòàëèêà îí âæåëòååòâ è íà÷èíàåò ïðîïóñêàòü ìåíüøå êîðîòêîâîëíîâîãî ñâåòà. [27]
Èññëåäîâàíèÿ ïîêàçûâàþò, ÷òî ââåäåíèå ëþòåèíà íîâîðîæäåííûì ñîïðîâîæäàåòñÿ ïîëîæèòåëüíûìè ýôôåêòàìè â îòíîøåíèè çàùèòû îò îêèñëèòåëüíîãî ñòðåññà. Íàïðèìåð, ïðè èñïîëüçîâàíèè ëþòåèíà â ïåðèîä 1236 ÷àñîâ ïîñëå ðîæäåíèÿ àíòèîêñèäàíòíàÿ ñïîñîáíîñòü êðîâè íîâîðîæäåííîãî çíà÷èìî óâåëè÷èâàåòñÿ. [28]
Äî ïîñëåäíåãî âðåìåíè â ñîñòàâ äåòñêèõ ñìåñåé ëþòåèí äîïîëíèòåëüíî íå âêëþ÷àëñÿ. È åãî ñîäåðæàíèå â íèõ áûëî âåñüìà íèçêèì. Íî â ïîñëåäíåå âðåìÿ â ïðîäàæå èìåþòñÿ ñìåñè îáîãàù¸ííûå ëþòåèíîì, êîòîðûå ïðèáëèæåííû ïî ýòîìó êîìïîíåíòó ê ãðóäíîìó ìîëîêó.
Íåñìîòðÿ íà íàëè÷èå äàííûõ ïî ââåäåíèþ ëþòåèíà â ñîñòàâå ñìåñåé â äîçàõ 200 ìêã/ë è áîëåå, EFSA (Åâðîïåéñêîå óïðàâëåíèå ïî áåçîïàñíîñòè ïèùåâûõ ïðîäóêòîâ) ïðèâîäèò äàííûå, ÷òî 100 ìêã/ë (ò.å. 10 ìêã â 100 ìë) ìîæåò áûòü äîñòàòî÷íî äëÿ äîñòèæåíèÿ êîíöåíòðàöèé ëþòåèíà â êðîâè, áëèçêèõ ê òàêîâûì ó äåòåé íà ãðóäíîì âñêàðìëèâàíèè. [29]
Èññëåäîâàíèÿ ïîêàçàëè[30], [31], ÷òî ó ìëàäåíöåâ íàõîäÿùèõñÿ íà ãðóäíîì âñêàðìëèâàíèè, êîíöåíòðàöèÿ ëþòåèíà â êðîâè ïîñëå ðîäîâ ïîâûøàåòñÿ, à íà èñêóññòâåííîì âñêàðìëèâàíèè ñìåñüþ áåç äîáàâëåíèÿ ëþòåèíà â ñèëüíî ñíèæàåòñÿ óæå ê 1-ìó ìåñÿöó æèçíè. Íàïðîòèâ, ïðè èñïîëüçîâàíèè ñìåñè, ñîäåðæàùåé àäåêâàòíûå êîëè÷åñòâà ëþòåèíà, åãî êîíöåíòðàöèÿ â êðîâè ìëàäåíöà ïîâûøàåòñÿ â ïðîïîðöèÿõ ñõîäíûõ ñ äåòüìè íà åñòåñòâåííîì âñêàðìëèâàíèè.[32]

Ëþòåèí çàðåãèñòðèðîâàí â êà÷åñòâå ðàçðåøåííîé äîáàâêè ê ïèùå E161 b (îòíîñèòñÿ ê êðàñèòåëÿì). Ëþòåèí èñïîëüçóåòñÿ â ôàðìàöåâòè÷åñêîé è êîñìåòè÷åñêîé ïðîìûøëåííîñòè, äëÿ îáîãàùåíèÿ ïðîäóêòîâ ïèòàíèÿ, âõîäèò â ñîñòàâ êîðìîâ äëÿ æèâîòíûõ è ðûá.[1]
Ëþòåèí âõîäèò â ñîñòàâ áèîëîãè÷åñêè àêòèâíûõ äîáàâîê è íåêîòîðûõ áåçðåöåïòóðíûõ ëåêàðñòâåííûõ ïðåïàðàòîâ.[1]
